You're welcome. It's fun digging this stuff out and sharing it. My bad, though, in misspelling Lee's first name. May have gotten my typing speed up to 5 wpm!
"The Paris Concert, ed 2" was my first Bill Evans album and one of my all time favorites. I got it in the fall of my freshman year in college- perfect music for Autumn in New England- and I left it on the record player for the entire semester.
I know what you mean about "perfect music for an Autumn in New England" as I was raised in Providence, RI. Some Evans "scholars" think that the Paris Concerts represent the epitome of all of his recordings. I love the clarity and crispness on his playing on them. It seems that what he hears in his head he gets into his hands, instantaneously.
I have a daughter named Emily. Listening to Bill play that song is pure joy.
What a wonderful combination: a daughter named "Emily;" a Johnny Mandel melody; a brilliant interpretation of the song by Bill Evans.
A great piece. Thank you for bringing it back.

It seems like what he hears in his head gets into Marc Johnson and Joe LaBarbera's heads instantaneously, too.
